| Link Validation: Codename: SS-20 |

PenguinRadio maintains a database of nearly 6,000 traditional radio stations and over 30,000 Live365 personal webcasting station. As you can imagine, these links often break down and cause a user to listen to "dead air."
To combat this, PenguinRadio is pleased to announce the deployment of SS-20, a streaming media link validation tool written specifically for PenguinRadio's database.

| PenguinRadio's Russian office is composed of several Russian nuclear weapon scientists working in conjunction with US government's weapons of mass destruction / nuclear nonproliferation programs. Our lead designer, Vlad, comes from Chelyabinsk, a closed military city deep in Siberia. On a lark, we named our program after a former intermediate range Soviet nuclear missle, the SS-20 (now all destroyed as part of the INF treaty. |

Although a station "says" they are streaming on the net, a variety of factors (net congestion, bad path names, broken links) leads to hundreds of broken links every time we run SS-20. Our staff checks these links by hand to ensure that we have the most recent URL for your streaming media needs. SS-20 produces results that indicate (with the images below) a station's streaming status when our servers check the streams (every few hours). |
